“A broken family is a family in which any member must break herself into pieces to fit in. A whole family is one in which each member can bring her full self to the table knowing that she will always be both HELD AND FREE.”

Hey!

I’m really happy you’re here.

My name is Leah (she/her), and I’m a Mental Health Counselor practicing in New York State.

I believe that talk therapy can not, and should not, look the same for everybody. In my practice, I structure the therapy around you, your needs, and identities. In order to do that, I always take a collaborative and humanistic approach. My goal is to create a safe and accepting space so that you can feel free to show up as your authentic self.

FAQs

+ Do you offer virtual or in person sessions?

In person and online appointments are available.

+ Can I meet with you if I don't live near Rochester?

Yes! I accept clients from anywhere in New York State, so please reach out if you feel I may be a good fit for you.

+ How much are sessions and do you accept insurance?

Individual Counseling is offered at $130 per session and Couples Counseling is offered at $145 per session. I accept Cash/Credit/HSA/FSA. Payment is due at the time of your session. Services will not be scheduled if a client is carrying a bill of more than one previous appointment.

I do not accept insurance. By privately paying for services, your progress in session is not dictated by your insurance company. Many clients do not want their insurance company to know when they are seeking counseling or therapy support services and what those services may be discussing. This allows you control over who knows your medical information and how much (or how little) you want to share.

I can provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance for out-of-network benefits, also known as a Superbill. If you would like to go this route, please reach out to your insurance company prior to your first appointment and ask the following questions:

  • What percentage is reimbursed for each out-of-network psychotherapy session?

  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered per calendar year?

  • Do I need to meet a deductible before I can receive reimbursement?

  • Do I need preauthorization for psychotherapy or a referral from my primary care physician?

*Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. If not cancelled within 24 hours of your session, the full price of the session ($130/$145) will be charged.
